One reason why we love the food scene and travel is due to the diversity of experiences you can enjoy, in different cultures with different cuisines, traditions, flavours and so on. There is so much to learn about different destinations and it is so fantastic to be part of an era where travelling is more available than ever before, meaning access into these cultures is more accessible than ever before. We believe it is so important to learn about different cultures to develop as individuals as it educates you, changes your thoughts towards life and allows you to meet people you would never meet in your home town.
While we were in Langkawi, we were lucky enough to experience a totally new culture which was in the form of a pop up restaurant, BHAR at the Tide Restaurant, Westin Langkawi Resort. BHAR pop up was launched with visiting chef Mohanad Alshamli serving Arabic delicacies with a twist.
Running until 31st September 2018 visiting chef Mohanad Alshamli is known as one of the incredibly talented chefs from one of the worlds top 50 restaurants - Renaissance Downtown Hotel, Dubai. This pop up restaurant focuses on modern techniques infused into traditional classics and contemporary twists on middle eastern family recipes. From the welcoming arabic mint tea you are greeted with, to the incredible interior for the pop up restaurant it was a fantastic way to try middle eastern cuisine for the first time.

Butter bean, feta and zaatar crush served with flatbread
Saffron, chicken and leek skewer with yemeni honey
Pea falafel salad with char grilled gems, cucumber and tarator
Baked whole seabass with walnut and herb crust, served with tahini yoghurt

Dough balls served with date syrup
Mango sorbet
If we had to choose a favourite, it would honestly be impossible... all of the flavours were absolutely incredible!
