A renovated factory fitted with recycled interior, serving homemade vegan and vegetarian food and good coffee... most definitely the most appealing cafe in Koh Tao and exactly what you need when on one of Thailand’s most beautiful islands!
When we arrived, we instantly fell in love with the cafe, a previous factory used to produce furniture for villas across Koh Tao now a modern cafe. As you continue to look around you keep noticing different aspects, such as the recycled gas bottles now used as light shades and barrels used as tables. Today it is so important that individuals and companies take a look at the impact they are making on the world. We absolutely loved that The Factory have created a incredible place based on recycling and rescuing. They also have a strict no plastic policy which is fantastic.
It was then time for the best bit... the food! Looking at the menu we both wanted to order everything from the standard menu, the specials and the drinks list... it all sounded so incredible and even better everything is produced from local ingredients and is homemade.
We went for a mango fruit shake and a coconut latte to drink followed by vegan pesto sweet potato gnocchi and shakshuka.
Everything we had was so delicious, fresh and full of flavour. Whether your a veggie, vegan or not, The Factory is a must visit place when in Koh Tao. We strongly recommend you visit either before or after visiting Aow Leuk Beach, the most beautiful beach we have ever seen. A day of eating delicious food, drinking amazing drinks and visiting beautiful beaches sounds pretty good to us!
